There's nothing better than being near to the ones you love! The story of the Conn family in Keokuk, IA demonstrates just that, plus it highlights the exceptional quality of life and abundant opportunity offered in the Great River Region.

Three Siblings Decide it's Time to Move Home
Third generation Keokukians  - Tony, Mary Pat and Jimmy Conn have just moved back to the Keokuk area, each to pursue a new endeavor.  All three siblings spent their elementary and high school years in Keokuk, then moved away to college and careers elsewhere. Their mother, Mae Conn, longtime Keokuk business woman and Conn matriarch (there are seven children total), is turning over the reigns of her successful business, Conn Communications, Inc.,  to her oldest son Tony.

Tony Conn Takes Over Family Business
Having graduated from Cardinal Stritch in 1980, Tony graduated from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, then entered the OCS.  After serving as an officer in Korea and Germany, Tony then returned to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO as company commander. Tony recently moved to the Keokuk area from Johnston, IA, where he was working in technical sales for a chemicals manufacturer.  With a

territory comprising of South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa, Tony’s previous career required that he travel at least 60% of the time.  As Conn Communications has a total of eight stores, Tony will still be doing some traveling, but it will mostly be in the tri-state area.  Since school days, Tony has remained in contact with good friends from Keokuk, and he is delighted his new professional challenge allows him to live closer to family and friends. Tony is looking forward to involvement in the Keokuk community.

Mary Pat Conn Starts a Business
Daughter Mary Pat is in the process of opening a new business, The Alley Cat, Keokuk’s newest full service salon for men and women.   Having previously owned a salon in Keokuk, Mary Pat moved to the Quad Cities some years ago.  Back in Keokuk, Mary Pat’s “new” building, 14 South 4th Street, in Keokuk’s Historic District, has been renovated for her new business, and Mary Pat is in the process of rebuilding her clientele.  Mary Pat has moved back to the Keokuk neighborhood in which she lived when she was in school. Mary Pat has always loved Keokuk and the beautiful Mississippi and is delighted to be able to, once again, call Keokuk “home”.

Jimmy Conn Finds Perfect Career
Youngest son Jimmy and his wife, Jennifer, are the most recent members of the Conn family to move to the area, having previously lived in North Liberty, IA.  Jimmy will be managing retail operations for The Mayfly in Nauvoo and the newly opened Samuel’s, 1020 Broadway, in Hamilton. Both Jimmy and Jennifer are graduates of Iowa State University. The couple and their two children are very nature oriented, and all four enjoy hiking in the great outdoors.  Additionally, Jimmy, like his brother Tony, is a huge baseball fan.  The two brothers look forward to spending time with their dad, Ed Conn, following the Cubs to the World Series.
